DRN Nutrition was built on a simple idea that performance nutrition should be real, relatable, and rooted in everyday food.

Our journey began inside professional sport, where founder Dan Richardson, MSc, SENr saw firsthand how confusing and inaccessible nutrition advice had become. Players were chasing quick fixes, supplements were oversold, and food, the most powerful performance tool of all was often overlooked.

We set out to change that.

Our vision & mission

Our vision goes beyond macros and meal plans. We’re here to redefine how athletes, schools, and organisations think about fuelling performance by empowering them with practical, evidence-based habits that last far beyond the next game, camp, or competition.

At DRN Nutrition, our mission is simple: Optimising Athletic Potential.
It’s what drives every workshop, consultation, and programme we deliver, helping athletes at every level understand how to fuel, recover, and perform at their best.

We believe that true performance is built from the ground up, on real food, consistent routines, and a culture that values wellbeing as much as winning. From elite academies to classrooms, our goal is to make world-class nutrition support accessible, actionable, and human.

Because when the science meets the everyday, that’s where real performance happens.

Founder's note

“When I played rugby to a high level, nutrition support didn’t really exist - or at least not in a way that made sense to real athletes. I learned the hard way what poor fuelling, limited knowledge, and mixed messages can do to both performance and confidence.

DRN Nutrition was born out of that experience. I wanted to build the kind of support I wish I’d had - practical, personal, and built around helping athletes truly optimise their potential, not just survive the season.”
